There are more than 9,000,000 Jehovah’s Witnesses around the world, spread across over 100,000 congregations. They are people indoctrinated to fear the outside world and taught to obey religious mandates, the questioning of which can lead to complete ostracism and rejection by both family and community.

Becky is just one example of the hundreds of young apostates who have “awakened,” often thanks to technological advances that serve as a window to the real world. She has fallen in love with a “worldly” person, Danny, and together—from Spain to New York—they have set out to reach the very heart of the organization to expose a system that still holds hundreds of thousands of families under its control.
