Filming has begun on La Cathédrale, the first production by Inefable Productions (ISII Group) shot entirely in English. The film, directed by Tenerife-based filmmaker Eduardo Cubillo, is a psychological thriller designed for movie theaters around the world, combining suspense, a vibrant soundtrack, and an overwhelmingly immersive cinematic experience.

The feature film boasts a prestigious international cast, including Tenerife-born actor Taz Skylar –who has become an international star thanks to his role in the series One Piece-; director and actress Marta Nieto -who won the Orizzonti Best Actress Award at the Venice Film Festival-; Will Keen -a seasoned performer on the London theater scene, known for his roles in acclaimed series such as The Crown-; the charismatic Ronald Guttman, who has shared the screen with Sean Connery, Al Pacino, and Forest Whitaker in films and has been part of the cast of series such as Mad Men; and actor and pianist Peter Vives, a familiar face on television for his roles in series such as  El tiempo entre costuras and Velvet, who has appeared in international big-screen productions such as Savage Grace -alongside Julianne Moore and Eddie Redmayne—and the Disney television franchise Cheetah Girls 2, which brought him to the public’s attention.

The protagonist, Thomas—concertmaster of the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra—is caught between guilt and the tremor that threatens to silence his career. Ten years after his daughter’s death, at the urging of his former psychologist—who is also his best friend’s wife—he agrees to participate in a restorative justice process with the man convicted of the crime. What begins as a head-on collision between two wounded worlds transforms into an uncomfortable search for the truth. But when an old violin reappears on the scene, Thomas finds himself drawn into a web of secrets that calls into question everything he thought he knew about his daughter… and about himself.

To mark the start of filming—which will last four weeks at locations in Las Palmas and Tenerife—the crew held a press junket at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the setting where the film is being shot. Director Eduardo Cubillo has long been interested in restorative justice processes, which he considers “magical” because “two people who seem irreconcilable—filled with hatred and countless grievances—can, through a simple conversation—which may or may not be difficult—end up feeling liberated in a way that has to be seen to be believed; it’s truly magical,” he explained.

The production of La Cathédrale marks a new push for ISII Group’s fiction division heading into 2026, as part of a slate that includes Martín Cuervo’s From Up Here, starring Gonzalo de Castro, Dafne Fernández, and Almudena Amor; Restricted Area, directed by Goya Award winner Cristian Beteta and starring Milena Smit, Roberto Álamo, Diego Anido and Irene Escolar, along with other projects to be announced soon as part of its growth strategy in the film industry.

At the same time, the group maintains its presence in theaters with productions such as Love on a Tightrope, starring Adriana Ugarte and Tania Santana; Summer Days, featuring Maggie Civantos, Roberto Álamo, Pau Simon, and Berta Galo; and Trinidad, headlined by Gabriela Andrada, Paz Vega, and Karla Sofía Gascón, in her first project following the international success of Emilia Pérez. The distribution company Deep Com Roots, which is part of the ISII Group, will release the films in theaters.
